Photo Scanning
Photos are scanned on-site (at my home office close to Peninsula Village) and turned into high-resolution digital copies (600 dpi) to keep your memories safe for years to come. Smaller orders (from a couple of photos up to 300 photos) can be completed same-day, within a few hours. If you have a large number of photos, they can usually be completed within a week or so.
Loose photos - 8 x 10 or smaller: $0.25 / photo
Photos in an album (they will be carefully removed, scanned, then put back) - 8 x 10 or smaller: $0.40 / photo
Oversized photos up to 12 x 12 or photos attached to cardboard/sticky from tape or food residue (they require a different scanning method): $0.70 / photo
Minimum charge of $25 for any project.
To help with estimating the cost of a project, a 1 inch stack of prints is approximately 100 photos.
VHS and miniDV Digitization
VHS and miniDV requires real-time capture (i.e. a 60 minute tape takes 60 minutes to play and convert, plus file compression).
$35 per VHS or miniDV tape, up to a max. of 2hrs
$10 for every additional hour on that tape
If you have 10+ tapes, then a volume discount will be applied
DVD Digitization
$20 per DVD, up to a max. of 2hrs
$10 for every additional hour on the disc
If you have 10+ discs, then a volume discount will be applied
Payment is accepted in the form of e-transfers or cash.
The digital files are sent to you via Google Drive, so you can download them to your devices. After 2 weeks, I will delete the files, so be sure to download them before the cut-off. Alternatively, you are welcome to provide your own new, in package USB (or I can purchase one and include the cost of that on your invoice) and I can save the files directly onto there.
